Best Workplaces for Commuters Launches in Connecticut
With its Best Workplaces for Commuters national honor roll, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recognizes employers that voluntarily meet the National Standard of Excellence in employer-provided commuter benefits. Summer Weekend Schedules
No Lane Closures on I-95 Between Exit 46 and Exit 54 The
Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that during summer
weekends, no ramp or lane closures are planned on I-95 Northbound and
I-95 Southbound between Exit 46 and Exit 54 from 12:01PM on Fridays through
12:01AM on Mondays. The summer schedule started on Memorial Day weekend
(Friday, May 28, 2004) and is in effect through Tuesday, September 7,
2004). The number of lanes available on I-95 during these hours will not
be reduced. Shore Line East Commuter Railroad: Additional Friday Summer Service Shore Line East operates additional “Friday Only” trains from Friday, May 21 through Friday, September 3, 2004. The trains operate as follows: Eastbound

Growth Connection (RGC), South Central Connecticut’s Access
to Jobs program, assists low-income workers and those just coming
off state assistance with transportation to work for their first month
of employment at no cost or little cost to the employee.
The program identifies significant gaps in transportation service in South Central Connecticut and works to eliminate them by providing new services. When possible, extensions are added to existing public transportation routes. When a need is identified, RGC can subsidize additional mileage or hours of operation on these public routes.
