Employers
Benefit from Customized Solutions to Commuting Challenges
Helping
employees find the quickest and most convenient commute possible can
be a significant benefit for any company. With the I-95 New Haven Harbor
Crossing Corridor Improvement Program underway, Rideworks can be a valuable
resource to employers because it offers a variety of low-cost transportation
options that are designed to improve the mobility of the work force.
Rideworks provides
information and services tailored to a company's specific needs as well
as assistance with selecting incentives and explaining available transportation
options. Click here for
information on incentives and transportation options.
Surveys/research
Comprehensive analysis
of employee commuting habits helps determine the most effective ways
to provide commuter transportation services that meet the needs of both
employers and commuters.
Rideworks provides the following help in conducting a confidential
employee transportation survey:
- design of the survey questionnaire
- tabulation of the results
- interpretation and presentation of the results
- design of a program that will best assist employees with their work
trips.
On-site
promotional events
Bring all of Rideworks' free services to employees -- at work. Rideworks
can:
- set up an information table in a lobby, cafeteria, or other high-activity
area and provide employees with the opportunity to ask questions and
receive information about their specific commutes.
- provide group presentations and conduct on-site transportation
assessments.
- conduct on-site rideshare matching.
- meet with new employees and employees who have moved to evaluate
new commute options.
Commuter
Information Centers
Having transportation
information available at work can be a tremendous help to employees,
even to those who do not use transit or share the ride regularly.
Giving employees
regular access to transit and ridesharing information means they can
easily investigate and use other commute options when they cannot use
their own vehicles.
Rideworks can:
- provide free Commuter Information Center displays stocked with
customized regional highway construction and transit information, bus
and train schedules, carpool and vanpool information, etc. (Commuter
Information Centers are available in either wall-mounted or tabletop
models.)
- restock the Center with new highway construction information and
up-to-date schedules. Items can easily be reordered as they run out.
Carpool/vanpool
matching
Rideworks offers free computerized ridematching to commuters who are
looking to start or join vanpools and carpools. In addition:
- commuters receive listings of other commuters looking to start
or join carpools and vanpools, and transit information if applicable.
- Vanpoolers receive
“how to” guidelines for managing the vanpool as well as
ongoing support once the vanpool is on the road, including referring
riders to the vanpool and finding drivers.
