New State Street Railroad Station Opens In Downtown New Haven
Governor John G. Rowland and Acting Transportation Commissioner James F. Byrnes were joined by Mayor John DeStefano, Jr. and other federal, state and local officials on June 6 at the grand opening of the new State Street Railroad Station in New Haven. This historic event marked the completion of the first of several enhancement projects planned for the Shore Line East Commuter Rail service as part of the I-95 New Haven Harbor Crossing Corridor Improvement Program.
Rail and Bus Service Available at State Street Station
The recent opening of the new State Street Railroad Station in New Haven (located between Court and Chapel Streets) is accompanied by a variety of service enhancements. All Shore Line East trains now stop at the new State Street Station in addition to New Haven’s Union Station. Passengers can even board Shore Line East trains at State Street Station and then transfer at Union Station to New Haven Line trains for travel between New Haven and New York City.

JobLinks Bus Services Expand
JobLinks, Northwest Connecticut’s transportation network offering new and enhanced bus routes in Greater Waterbury, Danbury and Torrington, has expanded its service, including service to Ansonia. JobLinks services in the Northwest Region are funded through the Connecticut Department of Social Services through the City of Waterbury, WorkForce Connection and Federal Transit Administration through the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
