Maintenance Repaving of the Pearl Harbor Memorial (Q) Bridge Scheduled to Begin April 26

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (ConnDOT) is announcing that milling and repaving of the Pearl Harbor Memorial (Q) Bridge is scheduled to occur beginning Monday night, April 26 (weather permitting) and will continue for approximately 2 weeks. The pavement repairs are necessary for the routine rehabilitation and maintenance of the existing bridge. This work is not part of the construction of the new Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge scheduled to begin in October 2005.

The following lane closures will be in effect on I-95 Northbound between Exit 46 and Exit 49:

  • One lane will be closed from 9:00p.m. to 11:00p.m.; two lanes will be closed on the Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge from 11:00p.m. to 6:00a.m.

The following lane closures will be in effect on I-95 Southbound between Exit 51 and Exit 46:

  • Exit 51 to Exit 50: One lane will be closed from 10:00p.m. to 5:00a.m.
  • Exit 50 to Exit 46: One lane will be closed from 9:00p.m. to 11:00p.m.; two lanes will be closed on the Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge from 11:00p.m. to 5:00a.m. The Exit 49 – Stiles Street on-ramp to I-95 Southbound will be closed from 9:00p.m. to 5:00a.m.; to access I-95 Southbound, motorists should use the Exit 50 – Woodward Avenue on-ramp (detour signs will be posted).

Lane closures may vary slightly depending on the day of the week or the specific work activity planned. Motorists are advised to call the I-95 New Haven Corridor Hotline at 1-866-277-9595 or refer to the program website at www.I95newhaven.com for updated lane closure information.

This routine maintenance work on the Q Bridge is part of Contract C1 of the I-95 New Haven Harbor Crossing Corridor Improvement Program. Contract C1 includes the expansion of I-95 between the eastern end of the Lake Saltonstall Bridge and the New Haven/East Haven town line and is scheduled for completion in November 2005.
